Ray graduated from The University of Mississippi, in addition to this he went on to obtain a Master’s in Education degree from Delta State University. He is a member of the State Farm President's Club, Million Dollar Round Table Qualifier, Legion of Honor National Association of Insurance and is a National Convention Qualifier.
