Preparing Your Home:⛄

  • Check Insulation: Ensure that your attic, walls, and floors are properly insulated to keep heat in and cold out.

  • Service Your Furnace: Before the cold weather sets in, have your furnace or heating system inspected and serviced by a professional.

  • Inspect Pipes: Insulate exposed pipes to prevent freezing, and let faucets drip during extreme cold to keep water flowing.

  • Keep Ceiling Fans on Low: Set ceiling fans to run clockwise to push warm air down from the ceiling.

  • Create a Warm Room: Designate a room in your house as a warm space where family members can gather. Use space heaters and blankets to make it cozy.

Fun Facts:

Christmas: The tradition of decorating Christmas trees dates back to 16th century Germany. The first artificial Christmas trees were made from dyed goose feathers.

The Christmas Card: The first commercial Christmas card was created in London in 1843 by John Calcott Horsley. It featured a family celebrating Christmas and the message "A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You."
